How I work

I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which allows me to work within the concepts and guidelines of the BACP Ethical Framework and I am committed to ethically and professionally at all times.

My primary aim as a humanistic integrative counsellor is to provide my clients with a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space to shine a light and explore thoughts and feelings in order to enable a deeper understanding of themselves.

The humanistic integrative approach allows me to draw upon a number of counselling modalities including Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, CBT, and Mindfulness. For more information about these approaches take a look at Counselling Directory where clear descriptions about them are outlined. In adopting these different approaches we can work on understanding what has brought you to the present and how you move on to shape your future.

As a counsellor I feel strongly in the Rogerian concept that everyone has an inbuilt capacity for healing, growth and development given the right conditions and the right therapeutic counselling relationship.

I believe you hold your own answers, and I can support you in finding them and increasing your self-awareness. My lighthouse is ready to guide you through whatever challenges, problems or thoughts and feelings you are dealing with, safe in the knowledge that your safety, confidentiality, and autonomy are primary concerns in the work we will do together.

I look forward to hearing from you and happy to have an initial free of charge, confidential chat to see how I can help if you are comfortable.
